Sznz: Spring

SZNZ: Spring is the first of four EPs Weezer are planning to release this year as part of the SZNZ project, each themed around a season of the year. Their first EP of the year, SZNZ: Spring, is a project full of Weezer’s ability to pair pop-rock instrumentation with melodies that’ll get stuck in your head. • In the opening moments of SZNZ: Spring, lead singer Rivers Cuomo declares on Opening Night that “Shakespeare makes me happy,” setting the tone for the rest of the project. It’s fun, floaty and full of life, much like a good spring day should be, and upbeat tracks like Wild At Heart and All This Love will make you smile. There aren’t many other bands on the planet that could pull together lyrical and musical references from both ancient and modern history and channel them into breezy and whimsical compositions.
