Blanket

Kevin Abstract announces his forthcoming third studio album, Blanket, for release on November 3rd via Video Store/RCA Records. The new album, which is now available for pre-order, was made over a 3-month span in early 2023 mostly alongside Kevin’s longtime collaborator and producer Romil Hemnani in addition to multi-instrumentalist Jonah Abraham (Playboi Carti’s Whole Lotta Red). The creation process was a collaborative one, with Abstract and his production team involving young screenwriters and veteran songwriters alike. As previous single 'Blanket' indicated, Abstract is pulling from a wide range of influences and notably pulling from the world of rock significantly more than his past work has. “I wanted to make, like, a Sunny Day Real Estate, Nirvana, Modest Mouse type of record,” Kevin says. “But I wanted it to hit like a rap album.” ‘Blanket’ serves as a taste for this new chapter of Kevin Abstract’s career and sees him breaking new sonic ground – a marked change from both his work in BROCKHAMPTON and his two solo albums to date.
