The album (recorded in London, New York, & at their home studio in Ghent), was predominantly produced by Flood (Smashing Pumpkins, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, PJ Harvey, U2, Nine Inch Nails), & mixed with Alan Moulder (Depeche Mode, Yeah Yeah Yeahs).
