Widely revered by Jamaica music aficionados, Leslie Kongs Beverleys Records released some of the finest recordings to see issue in Jamaica following its launch at the start of the 1960s, through to its close in 1972, following the premature passing of its founder the previous year. This 2CD collection brings together the cream of Beverleys less familiar late ska, rock steady and proto reggae sides from late 1966 to the close of 68. While the names of those featured may not be widely familiar, the standard of the music rates alongside the very best of Beverleys output during this fascinating hugely creative period of Jamaican music history.
